In this blog, we'll explain step by step how to get your poster professionally printed through Studentendrukwerk. From downloading your Canva design to choosing the right finish: this is how you can easily turn your digital poster into a beautiful, personalized piece of wall art!

Choose the size

Before getting your poster printed, it's important to choose the right size and the look you want. Below, we'll discuss the options for both small prints and larger posters.

1. Photo size

Step 1: Save your Canva file as a PDF

Is your poster completely finished? Then it's time to prepare your design for printing!

  1. Click Share → Download in the top right corner of Canva.
  2. Choose:
    File type: PDF
    Presets: Print
    Advanced settings: leave everything unchecked
  3. Click Download.

Step 2: Customize your product

Your poster is ready to be uploaded! Follow the steps below:

  1. Click on ‘Selecteer een formaat' (Select a size) and choose the desired size for your poster.
    Please note: Some sizes are displayed in landscape format instead of portrait format, for example 15 × 10 cm instead of 10 × 15 cm. This is not a problem at all! You simply need to rotate your design 90 degrees before uploading it so that it fits the correct format.
  2. Upload the file you just downloaded.
  3. Position your design in the right place and make sure everything is nicely aligned.

Please note: Around the edges of your poster, you'll see a dotted line. This is the safe zone. Make sure your design extends all the way to the outer edge to avoid white borders. Keep in mind that this area may be trimmed off during printing.

Tip: Avoid placing important text, logos, or other essential elements in this zone. This way, you can be sure your poster will look beautiful when printed!

Step 3: Check your product

Your poster is almost ready! Follow the final steps to complete your order:

  1. Carefully check the preview of your poster. Make sure everything is in the right place and that you're happy with the final result.
  2. Click ‘Bestellen’ (Order) once everything looks good.
  3. Choose the desired number of posters you want to order.
  4. Add your poster to your shopping cart and complete your order!

    Ophangsysteem (Hanging system): Choose whether you want to order your poster with or without a frame.
    PDF's aanleveren (Submit PDFs): Select ‘Je bestand is drukklaar' (Your file is print-ready).
  4. Is everything set correctly? Then click ‘Volgende' (Next).
  5. Choose the desired number of posters you want to order.
  6. Add your poster to your shopping cart and complete your order!
